Big news for the North Allegheny community! 🎉
The 2026 Niche rankings are out, and once again, North Allegheny School District has earned top honors — officially ranked #1 in the Pittsburgh area, #2 in Pennsylvania, and #25 in the entire country.
That’s no small feat! The annual Niche rankings evaluate thousands of school districts across the U.S. based on academics, teachers, extracurriculars, athletics, and real feedback from families and students. North Allegheny’s results highlight what our community already knows — this is a district committed to excellence in every way.
Here’s a quick snapshot of how NASD performed this year:

🇺🇸 #25 in America (out of more than 10,000 districts!)
👩‍🏫 #3 in Pennsylvania for Best Place to Teach
đź’› #41 in the U.S. for Districts with the Best Teachers
âš˝ #1 in Pennsylvania and #2 in the Nation for Best School District for Athletes
Superintendent Dr. Brendan Hyland shared his excitement about the recognition:

Even though North Allegheny slipped one spot nationally from last year’s #24 to #25, the district continues to shine on the national stage and remains the gold standard for education in the Pittsburgh region.
Rounding out the top five Pittsburgh-area districts this year were Mt. Lebanon, Fox Chapel Area, Upper St. Clair, and South Fayette.
North Allegheny’s ongoing success is a testament to the incredible teamwork of teachers, staff, students, and families. Whether it’s academics, athletics, or community spirit, NA continues to lead the way — and we couldn’t be prouder.
